Linux, Oh Linux
I've met and examined many operational systems in my life. And I really do mean many. But a few days ago I developed this theory about Linux. It was not so long ago that Xavier showed me a chart which portrayed software wars, so to speak, battles between the three major giants of softwares, Microsoft, Apple and... Linux? You see, it's even hard to actually assign Linux based software to someone specifically. One could say that's the beauty of open source coding, but it also brings its downsides. Now there were some things on that chart that I agreed to, like your typical internet browser war, but looking at that chart and seeing that Microsoft's office was supposedly in war with Linux's KOffice, that just pushed things over the edge.
It was actually retarded to state that there even was some sort of competition between MS Office and KOffice. Seriously, both programs run on different OS and don't really oppose any threat to each other. But the sad fact here is that Linux users are stuck with KOffice and other want to be rip offs, yes I've said rip offs, and with Linux you don't really have a lot of original software. Granted, the OS does feature a lot of cool gadgets and other things, but it doesn't have any actual good solid software. This can be mainly blamed by the open source matter I mentioned before. Nobody really wants to take time and develop a solid program for whatever needs. Only close mimics. That's why I decided to tag Linux as a started pack OS. It may sound cruel, but if you look at it, it really is only that. Basic programing, basic software and it's free. The irony is that people who use Linux are usually very much technologically developed and more geekish than their other geek competitors in the OS wars. So basically until Linux actually gets more developed and starts supporting games (yes, games!) I don't think it will really get more attention than it usually does. Linux, good for hosting servers, weak for anything else. -R. Posted on 06 Sep 2008 by Riddle
Week Rants
Here me and Xavier will weekly rant and discuss trivial, imporant, global and any other kind of topics that we desire. We'll be more or less focusing on giving our personal opinions and such things.
Also any kind of experiences related to Kendl Core's main topics. You'll be notified in the main posts on the site when we'll place a rant. We're busy people. Posted on 20 Jul 2008 by beta
